STATEMENT FROM ERIE COUNTY REPUBLICAN CHAIRMAN MICHAEL KRACKER
Erie County Republican Committee Chairman Michael Kracker released the following statement in response to Governor Kathy Hochul and her far-left allies in the Legislature rushing through a $229 billion state budget:“The radical budget deal in Albany will negatively impact families and small businesses in Erie County. Rather than finding solutions to address crime and affordability issues, Western New Yorkers will be burdened with a budget that includes billions in pork spending and new mandates that will harm family-owned businesses and farms. The ban on gas stoves and furnaces will result in higher energy costs and less reliable home heating, without significantly reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.Unfortunately, local politicians such as State Senator Sean Ryan, Assemblywoman Monica Wallace, Assemblyman Pat Burke, and other Democrats sided against the best interests of their constituents. Instead, they aligned with their Downstate colleagues to advance this reckless state budget. This shows that their political aspirations take precedence over the needs of Erie County’s residents.
I would like to thank Republican State Legislators Senator Pat Gallivan, Assemblyman Dave Dipietro, Assemblyman Mike Norris, Assemblyman Angelo Morinello, and Assemblyman Steve Hawley for their unwavering opposition to the detrimental budget agreement.”
