Eden, NY – On Wednesday, June 9th, the entire Eden Town Council and Town Clerk joined to endorse Karen Healy-Case
for Erie County Sheriff. The town council includes Councilman Michael Byrnes (C), Councilman Gary Sam (R), Councilwoman Susan Wilhelm (R), and Eden Republican Chairman Peter Gugino as well as Deputy Supervisor Rich Ventry and Eden Town Clerk Emily Hawkins (R), who were not able to be present for the included photo.
Eden Republican Chairman Peter Gugino released the following statement on behalf of the named elected officials, “Karen Healy-Case is the only true Republican running for Sheriff in Erie County, and I am proud to join with the Eden Town Council and Clerk to endorse her. Karen Healy-Case is a 22-year law enforcement veteran, a private security expert, and a loud, proud Republican who has been fighting to elect Republicans for over a decade.
John Garcia and his backers are playing a dangerous game because they know that if they are successful, Karen Case will still be on the ballot in November on the Conservative line. It will split our base and guarantee the Democrats elect a defund-the-police sheriff.
Republican voters have a choice: Endorsed Republican Karen Healy-Case who will never enforce the S.A.F.E. Act, or Democrat John Garcia, someone who promised to enforce it. He changed parties in the fall of 2020 to force this Primary, while Karen Healy-Case was supporting our Republican Party for the last ten years. Healy-Case has the proven experience to win and lead and we are proud to support her for Erie County Sheriff.”
