ERIE COUNTY REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN CRITICIZES COUNTY EXECUTIVE’S ARROGANT ABSENCE DURING SOLAR ECLIPSE

BUFFALO, NY — Erie County Republican Committee Chairman Michael Kracker released the following statement in response to County Executive Mark Poloncarz decision to abandon Erie County during the recent solar eclipse:“You’d have to stare directly into the sun not to be able to see how big of a hypocrite Mark Poloncarz is for leaving Erie County during the solar eclipse.

Mark manufactured a crisis, pressured businesses to close, told people to stay home, manipulated the media, shut down our county, and considered declaring a state of emergency. Mark then bolted Buffalo and fled to Ohio to give himself a better view of the eclipse.

His decisions cost local businesses big bucks, but he wouldn’t know because he hit the road after closing them. Poloncarz doubled down on thumbing his nose at taxpayers by producing a tone deaf video mocking the very same people he ordered to stay home.

Mark Poloncarz should answer publicly for his arrogant decision and let us know if any taxpayer dollars were spent getting him to Ashtabula.”
